In Puerto Rico, the Notary is a legal professional in charge of receiving and interpreting the will of the parties, granting legal form through the drafting of deeds and notarial documents to confer authority on them.

The Notary exercises public notarial faith, supporting with his authority what he observes, hears or perceives through his senses, and thus authenticates the declarations of will of the grantor.
